Edible Oil Refinery Plants

Chemical & physical refining lines for premium, food-grade oils.

What is it

What is Edible Oil Refining?

Crude vegetable oil contains gums, free fatty acids, colour pigments and odour compounds that must be removed before the oil is fit for consumption. Refining takes the oil through a controlled sequence of steps that progressively bring it to food-grade quality, clarity and stability.

Aditya Engineers supplies complete chemical and physical refining lines — with optional full SCADA automation — producing clean, neutral, long-shelf-life edible oil from a wide range of feedstocks.

The Refining Sequence
1

Degumming

Water and acid hydrate the phospholipids (gums), which are then separated by centrifuge.

2

Neutralization

Caustic soda reacts with free fatty acids to form soaps, which are removed.

3

Bleaching

Bleaching earth adsorbs colour pigments and trace impurities, then is filtered off.

4

Deodorization

High-temperature steam under vacuum strips the volatiles that carry odour and taste.

5

Filtration & Polishing

A final polish brings the oil to premium clarity and quality.
